Connecting with Our Community

December 1, 2015

As part of Carya’s Christmas giving campaign, we’re going to be out in the community talking about our work and asking Calgarians to donate this holiday season.

It’s an opportunity for our staff to connect with the Calgary community and for the community to see those who make our work possible.

Yesterday we spent the day at The Core Shopping Center, giving away gingerbread cookies which represent the 40,000 lives we touch in this city every year.

We were touched by the generosity of many and disappointed by the indifference of a few.

Regardless, we took it as a chance to reconnect with the city and have meaningful conversations with strangers; something we should all do this holiday season.

We hope you’ll consider donating to Carya this holiday season.  Every dollar stays in Calgary, helping us support young families, youth, older adults and communities.  And if a donation isn’t within your means, that’s OK too.  We hope you’ll wish us happy holidays, and we’ll wish the same to you.

Happy Holidays,

The Carya Team
