Positive ways to deal with stress and anger (June 27)

Community Based Education in Nurturing Parenting is an 8 session series aimed at teaching parents the basic philosophy and practices of Nurturing Parenting in raising healthy, caring children, and the importance of making time to Nurture themselves.
This final lesson in the 8 lesson series is about learning positive ways to deal with stress and anger. Stress has become common in the lives of adults and children and is responsible for various illnesses. Taking control of stress can help to lead healthier and happier lives. Below are several areas that will be explored:
• The 6 areas of human needs (SPICES) and how this relates to stress
• Helping children handle their stress
• Approaches to dealing with stress
Participants will engage in brainstorming, discussion questions, role plays and self reflection. Take home information sheets are provided for participants to continue their journey to become a more Nurturing Parent.
A light meal will be provided and bus tickets are available upon request.
