Community Based Education in Nurturing Parenting is a 9 session series aimed at teaching parents the basic philosophy and practices of Nurturing Parenting in raising healthy, caring children, and the importance of making time to Nurture themselves.

This 7th lesson of the 9 lesson series will discuss the importance of praising children and their behavior. Many conversations between parents and children can often include “no” or “why did you do that?” or “go to your room”. This lesson will explore the benefits of using praise and will cover the topics below:
• The difference between praise for “doing” and praise for “being”
• Misconceptions about using praise
• Promoting self praise in children

Participants will engage in brainstorming, discussion questions, role plays and self reflection. Take home information sheets are provided for participants to continue their journey to become a more Nurturing Parent.

A light meal will be provided and bus tickets are available upon request.
