At carya, food has always been part of our culture. Whether we are providing food for those in need, facilitating gatherings to connect over snacks or a meal, or celebrating milestones for our program participants, food has always been a powerful agent in our work to build community.

With the opening of Village Commons, food will become an even bigger part of carya’s DNA. Alongside an art studio, a family counselling centre, recreation spaces, and common areas for friends and neighbours to gather, Village Commons will feature a commercial kitchen and dining area to welcome those of diverse ages, cultures, and socio-economic groups to share a meal at one table. We look forward to gathering when COVID guidelines make it safe to do so.

Your support of this event will help us to bring this new space to life. Join us at the table!
