Our Outreach Workers
Outreach workers from The Way In teams provide information and connect people (with their consent) to services and resources that they need to age with dignity and in the right place. Our outreach workers can meet with older adults in their own home or at a convenient community location.

Is support through The Way In for me?
This program is for older adults (65+) who would like to increase their knowledge of resources and programs available to older adults living in the community, and ensure they are receiving financial and community resources they are entitled to.
Is there a cost?
These services are offered at no cost to older Calgarians, thanks to the support from the City of Calgary’s Family and Community Support Services (FCSS).
How can I access The Way In?
Carya’s Way In program is part of a Calgary wide initiative and partnership. Each agency provides outreach services to a pre-determined geographical area of Calgary.
- Carya’s NW Way In Team is located at Bowmont Commons and serves the NW area of Calgary.
- Carya’sCentral Way In Team is located at Village Commons and serves the downtown, inner-city core of Calgary.

I know it doesn’t sound like much, but Carya provided me with assistance in completing civic, provincial, and federal government forms regarding income support. Without Carya’s help, I would still be trying to interpret the forms and understand what information was required, with no hope of receiving income support in the foreseeable future.
